Who we are

GloSites provides websites and digital marketing for local businesses. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@golocaldigital.co.uk.

What we collect

• Contact details you give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and business address.
• Information about your business that you share in the package builder, questionnaire or discovery call, and any files you upload, such as logos and images.
• Order and billing records. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• Messages you send us, including through contact forms and our "Ask GloSites" assistant.
• If you take part in our referral or partner programmes: the details needed to track introductions and pay rewards or commission.
• If you subscribe to our newsletter: your email address and your marketing preferences.
• How you use our website, collected through cookies only where you have allowed it. See our cookie policy.

Why we use it

We only use your information where the law allows us to:

• To provide the services you've ordered, take payment and support you (to perform our contract with you).
• To answer your enquiries and run our referral and partner programmes (our legitimate interest in running and growing our business).
• To send you our newsletter and offers, and to measure how our website is used (with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
• To keep financial records and meet our legal obligations, such as tax.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run GloSites, and only as much as they need:

• Stripe, to take payments.
• Our website hosting and database providers, which store the information you give us.
• Our email providers, to send account emails and, if you've subscribed, our newsletter.
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how our website is used, only if you allow analytics cookies.
• AI service providers, which help power our "Ask GloSites" assistant and help us draft website content. A person on our team reviews all content before it's published.
• Professional advisers, such as accountants, and authorities where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of our providers store or process information outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's approved contract terms or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

• Customer and billing records: for as long as you're a customer, then 6 years for tax and accounting purposes.
• Enquiries that don't lead to an order: up to 2 years.
• Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics data: in line with the retention settings in Google Analytics.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that's wrong or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information, where we don't need to keep it;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
• ask for your information in a portable format; and
• withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing or changing your cookie preferences.

Using your rights

Email hello@golocaldigital.co.uk. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, but we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Your own website's visitors

When we build and host your website, we process information about your website's visitors on your behalf. You're responsible for your own website's privacy policy, and we're happy to help you with one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
